We are excited to announce that we will offer full-day preschool for 4-year-old students beginning in the 2020-21 school year!
Academics SCB delivers a seamless continuum of learning beginning in preschool and extending through middle school. Your preschooler will learn prayers, colors, shapes, letters, numbers, Bible stories, Catholic faith practices, technology, music, art, performance, and so much more.
Our exceptional teachers drive our high-quality curriculum. Our preschool teachers receive professional development and training and have access to best practices in early childhood education. They provide a nurturing, supportive and engaging way of learning:
Partnering with parents in providing a faith-based environment where caring and principled virtues are modeled
Developing inquiring and reflective thinkers
Fostering social and emotional development including independence, self-control, empathy, and verbal communication strategies
Our preschool curriculum is designed to provide a solid foundation for future academic success by:
Following the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards
Developing critical thinking skills through our dynamic, hands-on approach to learning including inquiry-based learning
Integrating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) through our classrooms and technology lab
Promoting teamwork and problem-solving skills
Creativity It is through play that young children explore, identify, negotiate, take risks and make sense of the world around them. Little Saints Preschool provides hands-on, interactive, play-based experiences where children learn and develop age-appropriate cognitive, social, emotional, verbal and physical skills. Your child will sing, dance, create art, take field trips, conduct science experiments, and develop lasting friendships with their classmates.
Independence and Responsibility The teachers of Little Saints Preschool will help your child to develop independent thinking by immersing them into a new environment with many opportunities for hands-on, independent, and communal learning. Students rotate through classroom jobs that help them develop responsibility and leadership. SCB opens doors to a range of opportunities that will help your child to discover, create, manipulate, absorb, interact, and explore this beautiful world that God has given us.
Social Skills Your preschooler will learn how to interact appropriately with both their classmates and adults. We provide special classes such as P.E., Technology, and Music. Students learn to follow directions, recognize and communicate their emotions, resolve conflict, reason, and form connections. Interaction with their peers teaches them to cooperate, share, take turns, forgive, and support one another.
A Loving Staff Our teachers and aides treat your child with the love, respect, patience, and encouragement that you expect. We provide a supportive, nurturing environment where your child will feel safe to explore, take risks, and grow. We maintain close communication with parents via our SchoolSpeak portal, email, newsletters, and daily announcements. We share pictures and stories with you. We also invite you to participate in your child’s educational experience by volunteering as a special guest, storytime reader, field trip chaperone, or special celebration and project helper.
Flexible Classes We know that the needs of each family and child differ. That’s why we offer flexible options that are suited to your needs and goals.
