Mrs. Hill and her husband are members of St. Charles Borromeo Parish and became a part of our SCB school family in 2007 when they enrolled their daughter, Sarah in 3 year old preschool. After volunteering and filling in as substitute teacher, she became the Physical Education and eighth grade Earth Science teacher in 2013. In the Fall of 2015 she was excited to become the middle school science teacher for grades 5, 6, 7, and 8.
Mrs. Hill received her bachelor of Science degree from University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point in Biology and Environmental Education. Returning to her hometown of Elgin, she worked for 8 years at the Elgin Public Museum of Natural History, planning and leading programs for ages 3 to adults. After designing and teaching environmental and science programs to home-schooled students, she fell in love with the formal side of education and completed a Masters of Arts in Teaching from National Louis University with a certification in elementary education and endorsements in middle school, science and social sciences. She then taught 7th and 8th grade science at Eastview Middle School in Bartlett, IL as well as coached girls volleyball and basketball.
“I was so blessed to stay home when Sarah was little. Now I feel so fortunate to be welcomed into the staff family of SCB where I get to share my enthusiasm for science and help students see the patterns God has revealed to us!”
